Fireplace surround repaint
Took a dated painted-brick surround from "builder beige" to something that doesn't fight with the rest of the room.
The fireplace surround was doing that classic thing where it technically matched nothing in the room, including itself. Three coats of paint, an unreasonable amount of painter's tape, and a lot of careful cutting-in around the brick texture later, it finally looks intentional.
No regrets on this one — a rare finished project that came out exactly as planned.
